Adam : "We've redone Wyll,, pretty much every line of dialogue has been rewritten. We changed his story a lot, we realized with Wyll that he had this incredibly compelling story. We weren't telling it as well as we could have done. So we did it again, because that's what we do. He goes in different directions much earlier in the game, --- so Wyll is a very complicated man."

Swen : "He's got a really complicated story, in terms of development. For the players it's very obvious, & the results of his choices are insane."

Adam : "He has a preexisting relationship with one of our origin characters & with the city of Baldur's Gate. He wants to kill Karlach at the beginning of the game,, so we made two origin characters. Where one is trying to kill the other one, so if you follow Wyll's original quest...he'll cut Karlach's head off.

It's very sad... but he can also not do that, & go down a very different route. He has his reasons for what he's doing, & Karlach has her reasons for wanting to survive. They could become very good friends."

This does make me wonder though,, IF they're changing his appearance too? What are your thoughts on everything, & do you think he should 'reincarnate' completely? As in being inside another body, & possibly having another personality.

I'm just happy how all of my harassing suggesting towards Kevin Vanord finally paid off. (I'd like to think that my letters brought him to this point, but pretty sure he never even got them lol.)

Okay so I think Larian was exaggerating about Wyll & Karlach having a "preexisting relationship."

When in actuality,, it definitely seems like only Karlach knows of Wyll? She also said how it's an honor to be chased by the Blade of Frontiers, which is pretty cool that his name reached someone like herself.

This begs the question though,, how did Wyll become so popular that he gets recognized by others from hell? Now it did seem like Karlach had a preexisting relationship with his devil lady, so that could be the reason?

Also if a woman you're really close to said,, "If my heart wasn't so cold, then I'm sure it would've melt for you." (Is that a secret hint how it actually begun melting,, yet she's playing hard to get?)

The reason I ask this is because of the devil lady saying something similar to Wyll lol. it's proving my theory on her secretly having a crush on him.

I don't know think most of them are just playing a game of seduction otherwise it would be flooding with vampires everywhere. If it was that easy to get something similar to a succubus to fall for you.

The poor guy needs a mommy like Jaheira to teach him to stop being that way! I guess his own mother didn't warn him about certain kind of women, or he just doesn't care lol.

Didn't really help him since in the EA you couldn't exactly build him as a proper Hexblade warlock. Blade of the Frontier or w/e he was and he only spammed EB.

Well feel like it has become a bit of a trend these days, that many or most love interest either like that or has a really saucy past.

So I in general lost most the interest in doing romances in games, its just most the time not for me with the options available to choose from. Feel like the majority of them in games lately are either 304, former ones, girl bosses, crazies or very modern women which neither really hold much interest to me.

Guess they wanted to give some added layer to ability system that you could make use of, but it does feel to me like it doesn't really parallel the original if that was what it was trying to, since you would get some abilities too from denying or suppressing the bhaal influences in the original, here it seems you can only attain bonuses by embracing the transformation or risk of it.

Will sadly never know, since all of the people interviewing Larian don't give a 💩 about Wyll.

You would think one of the big names such as "Kotaku" would have popped the question already? Oh but you know if it was Astarion or Shadowheart getting rewritten with a different voice actor, then they would have done so.

And even if Larian created a public Q&A with many BG3 fans, it will just become buried with more important questions that have nothing to do with Wyll whatsoever.

Larian probably just wants to sweep it under the rug too,, & would rather not address the elephant in the room? 🐘🙊 Therefore I'm predicting will never get any answers, & it will become an unsolved mystery forever.

Unless someone goes on twitter & ask Kevin Vanord himself, but sadly everybody is a scaredy cat .... including myself lol. So maybe one of you, or Vixzian will have the courage that I don't. 😿

And apparently the new VA was white even though none of us knew who the new VA was going to be yet?

Went back to it to tell the OP the new VA's name (and how they're not white) and found the OP was banned.

As for new Wyll's voice, I heard a good chunk of it in a WolfheartFPS youtube video and it sounds a lot deeper than old Wyll, but the scene in question wasn't one where the character was being particularly charming or charismatic, so it's hard to compare it entirely to the original VA's performance (which I really enjoyed personally).

But I'm sure I'll get used to the new Wyll in time, and the performance didn't seem bad in any big way, just different.

Thus, here's to the new VA! And to them hopefully being something I enjoy getting used to in the full game! Thanks for voicing such a cool character!
