where are the carrots

please help, i've been looking for carrots for literal hours and can't find them anywhere. i need them to build my tent.

The little dude on the stump near home has a map for it. It's after the bridge to the right down the side of the cliff though, so you can find it after you build the first bridge early game. There is a chest with coins and seeds next to a natural garden of carrots.
