Is build 42 the standard game? Or do I need to enable it?
I see it popup a lot that they added something to build 42, is that the standard game we're all playing? Or is it something like a beta? Also, any tips for beginning?

Nope. 41 is the standard. 42 is not available.
You most likely are confusing it with something, or deliberatly trying to cause a ruckus.

When the devs talk about build 42, they're talking about upcoming features. They're not currently available.

Yes currently, which is B41.

When B42 is available in beta you will have to opt into it if you want to play it before the devs consider it "stable" but that is not currently available (or at least not in open beta).

Build 42 is the next major update of the game, which is currently still being developed. The publicly-available version right now is Build 41.

When will it be available in beta? You know, tomorrow is the day of another thursdoid, will them reveal the date to us or just continue the devlog simulation? I kinda want to play the game but with a new build

When it's ready.

But i'm ready to receive it so cant it be ready too? We need to open ourselves to change and new possibilities you know?
I recommend "patience" being the change that opens yourself to new possibilities

Yeah I don't think trolling will be the way to go about this. You had your answers and now you're just trolling other topics about it? Move on.

When a new updoot drops, will i have to start a new game (world) in order for the changes to implement or do updoots populate in my current saved world?

yes. new save for sure. all your mods (if any will likely be broken too)

dont worry, build 42 will be a beta opt in at first while they continue to get it to stable.

If you want to beta 42 on release into wild, new save will be mandatory.

How do you opt in? is there something that will display in the launcher?

you will need to wait until the developers release it into the beta channel. it isnt available yet. It will be the normal way to get a beta through steam.

EDIT for more how:

your library.
project zomboid.
right clik. properties.
beta. choose it when it is ready for us.

It was called IWBUMS, but they might not keep that name.
you can get help for the beta when it actually is a thing for us.
