Polaris Lance Catalyst

So i just picked up the Polaris Lance and its catalyst completion is just so garbage getting the perfect fifth kills is impossible i have tried every guide and they all just get oneshotted even if i shoot on the side of them and they burn i get no completion at all. Please can someone give me some tips it almost feels like its bugged

I remember reading something about it where you'd use it on some Harpies in a certain area (I think it was on Mercury, tbh) and the explosion wouldn't kill them, but the burn damage from it would. I haven't worked on that catalyst in over a year, though, so for all I know it could just be bugged. :P

just use the gun normally and it will eventually unlock

For the catalyst you specifically need to get kills with the burn and not the explosion. Try it in a Legend Lost Sector and see how you get on there as that should at least reduce instances of you oneshotting stuff before the burn can kick in.

Enemies/factions don't have inherent enemy weaknesses. You get extra damage against matching shield types but that only applies to the shield.

There are better Scout Rifles, sure, but once the catalyst is done, it's done. :P
