CENSORSHIP on Steam usernames in-game.

Hello, everyone, today I'll be sharing my list of characters that for some reason (some obvious, but clearly others hyper-vigilant to a fault), are censored in game with asterisks.

It's an assumption of character, lazy, and also not necessary. Why can't the community just individually report offensive usernames in game? Instead, we see this sort of auto-action taken:

NOTE: Profanity Filter in-game does NOT disable the censorship on your username, or enable you to see other players censored usernames.

Our usernames are fine literally everywhere else.

I'm not changing my old username just for Bungie. They need to fix their problem. Every other developer on each Steam game we own doesn't have a problem with our preferred names except for them. It's dumb, and we're innocent. They're assuming racism, and general malicious intent. It's not woke. It's regressive behavior.

I need help, even from those who aren't effected by this to both build upon this list, and bring it to Bungie's attention that their lazy system is squashing innocent people whereas in-game I've heard someone on the forums claiming they've seen "Jew Nose" completely uncensored. It's not effective. Let players identify, and report offensive names themselves instead of unleashing a busted, ineffective filter on us.

This thread won't get locked. There is nothing in here to get it locked, the one that did was the one that blew up into political non sense. It is perfectly fine to be outraged by this, it's an issue and it needs to be fixed. If it doesn't effect you then thats fine enjoy your game but try to see people's point of view towards this.

I assume all those banned "words" are circle jerk terms for the losers of 4chan. They must have a lot of time on their hands to come up with so many inside jokes and dank memes. I guess when your life is a joke, jokes come naturally.

Yeah I wouldn't either. Thankfully Valve doesn't care about censoring usernames so this issue is Bungie's fault.

Be that as it may... this system does not hit the correct targets. Almost all steam games have a way to report offensive usernames. Why doesn't Bungie discard this ineffective method which punishes innocent people, and instead rely on the community to report offensive names?

At the very least...! Include a method for us to dispute our censored names!

Yeah I completely agree with that, so many ways to fix this. Even stated a bunch in my review for the game. I really hope Bungie comes through and fixes this. It's my only issue with the game since all the changes to the game itself are damn great.
