List of Easter Eggs *Spoilers*

The game is full of tons of nods and easter eggs relating to 90s culture, and I wanted to mention some of them as some are not that obvious or easy to find.

1, BastIen, who you meet on the first island, is based on the "pretty fly for a white guy" offspring video, where he directly mentions that "I asked for a 13 but they drew a 31" when you ask him about his sports team tshirt. If you look at their clothing, it's pretty much identical.
2, Grizzly is heavily influenced by rambo, despite not exactly looking like rambo (maybe a bit more rambo first blood and early rambo), and this is actually a nod that goes back to original jagged alliance 2, where grizzly came with a bow-tie knife, which was made famous by rambo. Also due to their background you can tell that they have very similar backgrounds.
3, first blood commando and mission impossible difficulties are of course references.
4, Livewire is probably a nod to Limewire, a famous bit torrent client that replaced Kazaa in very early 2000s (like 2004 or so).

Feel free to add some other ones you spotted. And not the obvious ones like difficulty names, obviously.

Really? While the game has:
Subtropcial climate
Savannes and mountains
Ocean access
Blood Diamond trade/industry
Multinational corp trying to exploit it
Civil War going on
Primarily german and french language/names

You think of the loraine region of central-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-europe and not of well ... maybe ... Sierra Leone?
Which has ... all those factors noted instead of just one? And even had several movies made about the civil war in late 20th century/early 21st century? Were actual international corps paid PMCs to usurp said blood diamond trade? I mean ... really?

You REALLY must either hate the french or the german with your whole soul if you see the loraine region as being referenced in the game instead of Sierra Leone (there's also lots of german and french named villages and people around there btw ... because ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ colonialism xD)

In this case, Arulco from JA2 surely referenced italy Italy because Omerta ... and San Mona xD

For me it's about how every Grand Chienite speaks with heavy french assets that give me that vibe.

Just as A LOT of western and central africans do due to ... well ... I think you know which word is coming now xD

There's 0 reference to the Loraine Region ;)

No one is going to mention Elliot’s singing in Camp du Crocodile. The Bohemian rhapsody parody was a fantastic piece of comedic parody voice acting.

Buns line regarding Siegfrieds table might be a reference to Sideshow Bobs line during his trial, as Bob is usually shown as the most educated of Simpsons characters.
Buns:
"This is German and of cause, I can read german, as every properly educated person should!"

Sideshow Bob trials:
"What about your tattoo, doesn't it read 'Die Bart, Die!?"
"Ohh no, this is German and means: The Bart, the!"

And this might also be a historical reference as Buns is danish and one of germanys federal states not only directly borders denmark but actually was part of denmark for the longest time before the end of the napoleonic wars, were it became officially part of Prussia and therefor later on part of the Second German Reich (German Empire 1871 - 1918)

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Courage the Cowardly Dog yet. I remember watching some episodes as a kid, but I can't recall if I fully appreciated its dark humor at the time. I probably didn't grasp it completely, but I enjoyed it enough. So, it was a pleasant surprise to see the game giving a nod to the 90s cartoon.

Others have mentioned Courage the Cowardly Dog. In particular, A11 = Middle of Nowhere.

Courage the Hyena kind of laughs similar to Courage the Dog.

But I don't recall others mentioning Mr. Gattz, who is sort of the "villain" at the end of the quest. With the British accent, I think Mr. Gattz is rather reminiscent of Katz, who was one of the main antagonists of Courage....

Somewhere you can find movie posters of classic '70s and '80s action flicks. If Kalina looks at a poster of Enter the Dragon she'll say something about how she was confused about the lack of dragons in the movie.

In Pantagruel west, when talking to a random man painting a wall, he mentions that he knows we are not here to help Grand Chine, that we only want the diamond. Raven responds "You know nothing John Doe." A reference to Ygritte in Game of Thrones who often responded "You know nothing, John Snow," after being told something by him.

I was thinking if Adjani River Valley is a reference to the famous french actress Isabelle Adjani.
