Development Roadmap
Here's a list of features for the current "major" version we're working on, as well as less detailed past & future versions.

Please understand that this plan is subject to change, both in the listed features and estimated dates. Any revisions to the roadmap will be explained in posts below.

Version 0.8
Released May 2024

This release added a couple dungeons and 3 new quests to the original release, but for the most part it focused on improvements and bugfixes. Certain mechanics such as disarming traps, or crafting, or camping random encounters were added. Also some relevant mechanics were revised (armor mitigation) or right away redesigned (skill system, resistances).

You can read a more detailed list of changes in this announcement.

Version 0.9
Estimated: Spring 2025

A big one that will likely get released through several minor updates. The focus is on content expansion and character advancement into mid-levels.

UPDATE: the list of features below is already around 40% completed as of v.0.8.1, which included a new outdoor area, 12 quests, a companion, new crafting, raised level cap to 5, etc.

Content
  • Chapter 2 of the main quest.
  • Two new vast areas! Game world size triples compared to 0.8. Includes two new towns and various dungeons (ruins, caves, fortresses, lairs).
  • At least 25 new quests.
  • New companions.
  • Companions will be more active, sometimes participating in dialogues.
Visual Improvements & Immersion
  • Improved battle grid: less intrusive and better adapted to rough terrain.
  • Enhanced NPC animations and behavior, including talking animations and expressions.
  • More complex NPC AI behavior in real time, with daily schedules, interactions, and activities.
  • Revised and better synced sound effects.
Gameplay Implementation
  • Current Level cap (4) increased to 6 or 7.
  • New basic and advanced careers and talents.
  • Crafting stage 2 (up to rank 7 recipes).
  • Addition of Rank III spells and new disciplines.
  • Dual-wielding, special arrows, poisons implementation.
Other
  • Localization.
  • Controller support.
  • UI improvements.

Version 0.10
Estimated: End of 2025

This version will be detailed further after the release of the 0.9 version. It focuses again on content expansion and advancing character system into mid-high levels.

Version 1.0
Estimated: Q3 2026

This version marks the game's completion, with the final chapter of the main quest and additional high-end content. Details will be provided at a future date. Post-release, the intention is to continue enhancing the game with more content, expanded mechanics, and other improvements.

Suggested features by the community

In this second post I'll keep a record of some suggestions made by the community that I am considering adding to the game at some point, so you don't need to suggest them again.

- Support for custom portraits.
- Allowing individually spending rations on party members.
- Auto-run key to avoid holding shift.
- Thrown weapons, slings, crossbows, dual wielding.
- Accesibility (color blindness) options for the battle grid.
- Having a dedicated slot for ranged weapon (would still need to spend AP to switch which is equipped)
- Adding notes to map
- Handouts (maps, letters, notes) should be added to journal permanently.

Made some changes in the roadmap above.

-Added to 0.8: Revised skill system, revised resistances, crafting skill (not just alchemy), camping encounters.

-Moved from 0.8 to 0.9: visual improvements.

I came to the conclusion it was far more important to the game development to have a solid foundation of relevant gameplay systems such as resistances or skills, after detecting issues in the first months after EA release, rather than investing that time in animations or visuals that can be done later without too much consequence.

I could also have kept the visual improvements and pushed back 0.8 into May, but I believe what the game needs more right now is more areas and more levels of character development, and that'll be my priority.

An update on the release of 0.8. Although originally estimated for April, it will very likely not release until mid May.

Of the whole list of 0.8 features, five things remain to be implemented: one minidungeon, camping encounters, disarm traps skill, maps & charts skill, and the ability to browse spells of a discipline. Some of them will be ready by the ending of april as release 0.7.10, but others will need another couple of weeks.

After 0.8.1 was released, I have revised the roadmap. Removed the specific details on what's included in past releases, keeping a detailed list only for the next major release. Estimated dates have been adjusted.
