In this second post I'll keep a record of some suggestions made by the community that I am considering adding to the game at some point, so you don't need to suggest them again.
- Support for custom portraits.
- Allowing individually spending rations on party members.
- Auto-run key to avoid holding shift.
- Thrown weapons, slings, crossbows, dual wielding.
- Accesibility (color blindness) options for the battle grid.
- Having a dedicated slot for ranged weapon (would still need to spend AP to switch which is equipped)
- Adding notes to map
- Handouts (maps, letters, notes) should be added to journal permanently.
-Added to 0.8: Revised skill system, revised resistances, crafting skill (not just alchemy), camping encounters.
-Moved from 0.8 to 0.9: visual improvements.
I came to the conclusion it was far more important to the game development to have a solid foundation of relevant gameplay systems such as resistances or skills, after detecting issues in the first months after EA release, rather than investing that time in animations or visuals that can be done later without too much consequence.
I could also have kept the visual improvements and pushed back 0.8 into May, but I believe what the game needs more right now is more areas and more levels of character development, and that'll be my priority.
Of the whole list of 0.8 features, five things remain to be implemented: one minidungeon, camping encounters, disarm traps skill, maps & charts skill, and the ability to browse spells of a discipline. Some of them will be ready by the ending of april as release 0.7.10, but others will need another couple of weeks.
