Any plans for a singleplayer campaign?
2 of my favorite games are FreeSpace 2 and TIE Fighter. They had really great campaigns. Is this something that you'll add in down the line?

We'll be adding support for a single-player sandbox mode but I'm afraid we won't be adding a proper single-player campaign like the games you mentioned.
Oh okay. Guess I'll wait for Star Citizen's Squadron 42. Should be out any day now...

UGH! why do all of these games lack campaigns?

They are both expensive and time consuming to build. On top of that gamers still expect a multiplayer component and unfortunately we only raised our minimum Kickstarter so we made this game on about as slim a budget as you can imagine :p.

I get that, but there's an untapped market for singleplayer games of this type.
You obviously don't get it as your sentance contain "but" when they said they can't afford it.
Does, the sandbox offer random encounters I fine with that.

If the game really will have a single player sandbox mode in the future, this should be more explicitly mentioned in the description of the game page.

I am seeing some considerable aversion to the game for not having it.

It will optionally contain AI players.

Will look into this, thanks.

Yeah even if it's just the same as the multiplayer component but with AI that's fine. I also mainly play single player because usually other human players pose quite a challenge. My idea of fun is not building something up and then getting crushed by someone better than me :) Mediocre to good AI opponents are great at getting defeated while stile posing a challenge!

Valve does not like describing features that aren't implemented yet in the game; so claiming that we have a single player mode, when we don't know when we'll have it, would be frown upon.

good luck to that. I'm a backer of star citizen and that game not coming out anytime soon. They're just going to keep on milking players of their money with exclusive new ships that they can buy and fly around for fun even though the game is not out. I lost hope a long time ago.

I'd be interested in the singleplayer sandbox perhaps.

Not going to lie, I'd much rather have a fleshed-out singleplayer experience, multiplayer has very limited interest for me.
However, i am going to keep on eye on this game, and might dip my toe in because I was a curious the see what Infinity: Quest for Earth would've been like resources permitting.
Even if Battlescape isn't for me I'd like to see the dev team succeed. I think you might have a good vision for Infinity as a game series.
