What's the progression like?

The terms "roguelike" and "roguelite" have gotten so muddy that it creates confusion no matter what you're looking for. Is this like Rogue Legacy, Flinthook, and Void Bastards where your new character keeps benefiting from your earlier runs? Or is this like Enter the Gungeon, A Robot Named Fight, and Vagante where each run is more or less a clean slate but you unlock additional characters or random drops with their own trade-offs?
