Artillery Shell type 'Guided' - What is that for?
Can anyone explain to me what that specific shell type is used for and how it is used properly?
How does it differ from Laser Guided shells and with what do you "guide" this thing in the first place if at all?
Google didn't help much on this one.

Guided is Satellite guided, similar parameters to a JDAM however it is fired from a shell. Basically, It has fins that guide it to an accurate set of co-ordinates with an accuracy proposition of a 5KM shot with a spread of 10M dis-accuracy (are around a target point that is where the shell will hit) where as a normall shell would have 25 at such range. This means this shell is just over twice as accurate as the average shell. Laser guided however will hit a laser marker. Hope this answers your question :) .
