I am getting the same issue. Have not been able to play this game in months because of this problem. Wish I could find out what's going on also.

Hey everyone, I need a help! I can’t enter in a game, mods don’t loading and show up error message: userconfig \TPW_MODS\TPW_MODS.hpp not found , then next message: The exception unknown software exception (0x000dead) occurred in the application 0x0000000076EFDAEA8 and after that last one: code 0x000 DEAD. Who knows how to solve this problem? let me know. Thanks a lot

I know this is an old thread but hopefully my experience in troubleshooting and solving this issue will help someone. The error seems to relate to DX and Arma3 cfg corruption. Reinstalling Arma3 will not fix since these files are not deleted when you unistall Arma3. Go here C:\Users\YourName\Documents\Arma 3 and backup the files in this folder. Then delete Arma3.cfg and the files ending with profile and json. Start Arma3 it will create new cfg and profile files. Test. Problem should be fixed - failing that go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3\_CommonRedist and reinstall DX and the others. Reboot. Test. If still an issue suggest uninstall video drivers and reboot then reinstall video drivers. Test. Still and issue - open command prompt in administrator mode (right click) and type sfc /scannow - this will check validity of all system files - takes time be patient - make tea. When finished reboot.

Hopefully this helps me, Although I believe my problem involves my hardware deteriating (RAM)

I've been reading up on the dreaded 0x0000DEAD - error. Apparently this error code is a custom inserted bug check to catch something that wasn't planned for. That really helps troubleshooting :) It seems to relate to TCP/UDP bad checksum value. Meaning most likely in Arma3's case that one or more files are corrupt. I have seen Steam validation pass only to discover that a number of files and mods were in fact corrupt. Detecting which files are corrupt is the tricky part. I repaired most of my mod files and discovered a number were in fact corrupt despite Steam stating they were fine. I'm still not sure if this only applies to SW mod file corruption - I assume not.

thank you for reminding me about this post i did a while back, seems like I was running the game on another bit instead of 64 bit, once I had changed it to 64 bit i never received the error message ever again

The other thing I read which sounds like it works for most based on feedback.
First backup your documents\arma3 user profiles and settings files then delete all of them and start A3.

I just looked... In parameters it is the first option at the top. It should say platform "default x64"
