I am getting the same issue. Have not been able to play this game in months because of this problem. Wish I could find out what's going on also.

Hey everyone, I need a help! I can’t enter in a game, mods don’t loading and show up error message: userconfig \TPW_MODS\TPW_MODS.hpp not found , then next message: The exception unknown software exception (0x000dead) occurred in the application 0x0000000076EFDAEA8 and after that last one: code 0x000 DEAD. Who knows how to solve this problem? let me know. Thanks a lot

I know this is an old thread but hopefully my experience in troubleshooting this issue will help a bit. The error seems to relate to DX and Arma3 config corruption. In my case I get the error only when trying to host a game using a listen sever. Reinstalling Arma3 doesn't seem to fix the issue unless (I assume) all config files are removed. It's also possible that this has something to do with Steam cache - I haven't tried clearing the Steam cache yet. Things to try - go here C:\Users\YourName\Documents\Arma 3 and backup the files in this folder. Then delete Arma3.cfg and your profile settings. Starting Arma3 will create new cfg and profile files. Test. Problem could be fixed - failing that go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3\_CommonRedist and reinstall DX and the others. Reboot. Test. If still an issue suggest uninstall video drivers and reboot then reinstall video drivers. Test. Still an issue - open command prompt in administrator mode (right click) and type sfc /scannow - this will check validity of all system files - takes time be patient. When finished reboot. Lastly suggest clearing the Steam download cache Steam > Settings > Download > Clear download cache. I'm not promising this will fix the problem and if you screw up your game don't blame me. These are purely suggestions. If any work or you find a solution please post to help other users.

Hopefully this helps me, Although I believe my problem involves my hardware deteriating (RAM)

Unfortunately the above doesn't reliably solve the problem. I'm still doing some investigation. So far restoring system to earlier working state seems only real solution. I've logged issue with BIS. If I find out more I'll post.

Still no definitive answer - the only new thing I've noticed is that this error code seems to apply to a general failure state - I experienced this error the other day with a corrupt mod.
