SITREP #00026 Info on more content for you impatient people

Work on post-release (free) content progresses nicely. It's looking likely we'll include new heavy pistols and a CSAT marksman rifle (with new marksman optics) with the first campaign episode. Content for the other episodes is in development. The two CAS airplanes are mostly finished in terms of their most detailed artwork Level Of Detail (LOD). They are now undergoing texturing and LODing, before handing them off to the encoding, audio and animation departments. And there are yet more brand-new vehicles being sculpted by the artists.

Sounds like they are nowhere near getting us new aircraft in the next month. I mean I know they want to make up their own names and all this futureistic crap but at least release all the old arma 2 aircraft in the meantime to use for mods.

lol, seems like you haven't read it. Let me quote:

You can get all that stuff with the "All-in-Arma" mod. I was just hoping for some newly rendered weapons like maybe the AK-12 or something M4 or HK416-ish. I know there's a ton of stuff out there to do but I just don't feel right without an AR in my hands. I'm not giving up on Arma 3 or BI by a long shot but I really wish there was a bigger arsenal to play with.

Campaign is on the way, and it will be free so campaign IS included in the price. So is all future content and fixes the next many years.
Arma games are not like others. On paper there's a "final release" but not in reality. They're contantly improved and polished.

Hmm, so they have to remake all their vehicles for the new Arma 3 Engine? how are people porting them over then? Why dont they just take what they already made and update them, isn't that easier?

Maybe he doesn't remember what new games used to be at launch - Complete. I'm not talking like, bug free, or even good. I mean they were complete, COMPLETE, as in had something substantial. Now adays we get the bare bones engine, with a few tasty operations and functions. We don't get the full car, if you catch my drift.

I'm sure that even if Arma, or Arma 2, or OFP launched incomplete, they offered you something. Overall. Later improved upon.

Right now we are seeing additions of what I really see as base features to the game POST-LAUNCH. So, without these features we are left without our base experience, yeah? Then why sell the game for full price if it isn't worth it YET?

People don't seem to understand, but perhaps "showcases" are to be the norm in the future.... Play some now, play the real game much later but we sell it at full price anyway... right...

On one point I disagree with whatever you stated, because it doesn't excuse selling something so incomplete, so different than what was not only expected, but promised, and also priced.

However, I agree that people should treat others opinions as non-threatening. As it goes against freedom of speech. But then again, their ability to express discontentment with whatever you said also is a form of freedom of speech, even if their speech is "offensive". Hah.

I don't want to come out so strong, but maybe your smartass self doesn't remember that last year the two MAIN developers got arrested and the campaign had to be completely revamped due to the reasons of their charges. Tell me, when you have a team of developers, and two of them have planted the main ideas and have what's planned down for the entire game and you have a country's government charge you and you go to the GOVERNMENT'S court, not some city-court and you are put in jail for 30 days with limited connection with media and your team, how the ♥♥♥♥ing hell are they going to do things? Tell me how the ♥♥♥♥ you are going to complete the game? I can vouch for most of the actual ArmA community when I say we stick to and support Bohemia in the ArmA series in everything that happens. A simple ♥♥♥♥ing campaign? This isn't CoD, we don't buy to hear the story, there's no story, it's a simulator and has an amazing editor and this new technology you've obviously never heard of called "multiplayer". Why don't you go make some friends and play it, or can you not?
