-maxmem parameter.....help this?

Use arma 3 more ram when i set the startoption -maxmem=2048 ? And when i set
-maxmem=8192 ,will arma3 use all this ram? I have 16 gig ram in my win7 64 bit system (win7 home premium).
For me its to difficult to use a ramdisk so i hope with such parameter arma use more ram.

No, it does nothing in Arma 3 and in Arma2, maxmem over 2048 is ignored.

maxmem defines only custom range from LAA (large address aware) range of 4GB on 64bit OS
the range atm is max 2047

the engine also uses filemapping API from OS to handle another N GB of memory used indirectly

2047 is the maximum, this is like an ,virtual memory' but different what u can see under windows pagefile.it has nothing to do with ram.
