Exile is definitely not dead however finding a server suitable to your tastes is a little different

Since Exile shutdown it's Website and moved into Discord you can tell the mod is about done. Old news with very few servers anymore. It had it's moment of fame that is gone now. Of course those trying to keep it alive are like a Mama Bear protecting a cub, very aggressive.

Dayz SA is likely the only replacement though Exile was no where near as good as the Arma 2 mods were. PVP killed Exile as well as selfish entitled brats chasing off many of the mod creators. With out them there was not much left.

anything pvp orientated is dying a slow death. as far as public servers go and their respective modes you'll only get a handful at most with each mode. really sucks but its 7 yrs old

Well someone was asking about it and people want to claim it is not dead. Oh and do not go to the discord for server setup help, you will get your head bit off by trolls that patrol their discord to get rid of new people coming in. I finally just said forget it and found other ways of getting what I need.

I had a backup of everything before the shutdown then lost my Dedi box drives to a bug. Gathered a lot back up if someone is having issues finding something.

DayZ and Exile ain't really the same thing, One is a survival simulator and the other is a PVP focused arcade version of wasteland.

alot of good servers died, the good ones and something for everyones taste is still there.
black lotus for vanilla bois and well yeah the ones u need mods for that are bigger then the game, like 40-50gb.
tbh i still play it and sstill enjoy it.

atleast exile was not a 5-6year alpha duh.

the moment to moment gameplay of exile reminds me terribly of day-z or escape from tarkov. of course the end goal is different but the overall pacing and feeling of the game is very similar. unless of course you go into a fully militarized exile server and then its a complete pvp fest. there would be no reason for me to get day z when i could scratch that itch with exile
