How to mine Moonlight Ore?

I tried dusting it during sleep, and sprinkling it with magic dust and then heading back to it the next day, and I've got the Mine 3 spell... am I missing something? I'm honestly out of ideas.

Do you have the required skill? Just like with iron needing a skill, this needs a skill too. Mineralogy III ...

Yeah, I dusted it, and I have Mineralogy 3... I'll try it again, maybe my save file is glitched. -_-

Hmm, if you dusted it and went back in the morning to mine it (with mineralogy III, of course), it should work. When did you try? Wonder if the patch today did something wonky.

Edit: Nah, no problem with the patch. Tested it on my most recent hard mode save when I got home.

Also, just to be absolutely sure I wasn't mistaken, I loaded my original character and bought a skill reset. Using only the Mineralogy III skill (went straight up the middle path and grabbed no other harvest skills; that means no mineralogy II) I was able to mine it just fine.

I just tried it again, and this time it worked!... Not sure why it didn't the first time- is there a time limit on how long the dusting remains active? Maybe I didn't get down there fast enough.

yes there is a time limit to how long a dusting remains active, IIR it is like 3-4 in game days
