This game doesn't even start for me. Any solutions. I have Windows 8.

I think that is the problem Windows 8 100%
Try compability mode windows 7 or Xp SP3 if not working,
Put windows 7 and it will work 100%

I agree with LordMiki here. For some odd reason, Windows 8 has problems running games (don't ask why), whereas Windows 7 doesn't

well alot of people (not just gamers) are keeping Windows 7 for the time being, until the next version of Windows comes out that doesn't have problems running games

naw i'm certain I said windows 9. The world tends to accept every other operating system Microsoft dishes out. W95 > skip 98 > 2000 > skip 2kME > XP > skip Vista > W7 > skip W8 > W9....who knows maybe games will skip W9 too...

THis isthe first game which has misbehaved in Win 8.1 64bit, but this game crashes at the same point in the first level when you pull a power switch.

Download and instal new or good version of GPU driver ,net framework 4.5, visual C++ redist
It should help. If not i fraid you must instal win7

I found a FIX, set the AVPdx11.exe to compatibility mode Windows 7, than ingame set you Directx11 Graphic options off Tesselation and the other you can leave anti aliasing alone..

This worked for me now i can beat it on nightmare

Yep your problem is Windows 8, Like Windows 10... Its useful for surfing the web, reading office documents, playing browser / Java games and allowing MS to do whatever they want to your PC and files in the background ... but not much of anything else.

Become a real gamer and go back to WIndows 7x64

I agree and disagree in the same time.
On win 7 ultimate 64bit on AMD new configuration sometimes game freeze 2
It is AMD and DX issues, old game and new PC configuration
I solved and reduce this issues with windows update in SP1 also used IObit driver booster
So booster uptade all posible drivers to latest version also booster find microsoft DirectX patch
Now really rarely freeze. I play on DX 11 maximum graphic setings.

Btw i read (dont know where , maybe on microsoft page, im not sure? ) that AMD and microsoft work together to solve this issues so AVP is not only one with such a problems.

Have you done your research correctly in regards to W10 its geared around gaming you can even stream your xbox games to any device or play your friend on a xbox using your pc,lol W10 is the final microsoft os and runs games outstandingly with no issues,those who have issues just need to install it correctly,and stop the Windows 10 blame.

In regards to your private file you also need to learn to use W10,its not rocket science you can turn all or some of the services on or off in setting.

Why do a lot of people regard W10 as an os with your arm up your back and forcing you to do as they say,lol its simple just turn off the services options that you dont want,ie, cortana just click the slider to off ,Hell click almost all of them off if you want,but leave update on.

Alizee this is the point what avp was optimized for old drivers and old PC configuration
This issues is about new PC configuration , new drivers for it and the fu.cking old game like AvP is.
Doesnt matter what Program use for update drivers, IObit or another one doesnt matter. The point is there are solution for solve and reduce this issues.
This is not about you and me this is if we can help somebody about some issues!!!
