New World's First Expansion Coming Soon [Probably]
Multiple new job listings on Amazon Games' career page suggest that they still have big plans for the future of New World and the first major expansion is releasing this year.

The developers have clearly been saving the all best new content for New World's first major expansion, which will include a new territory on the world map, new enemies, new weapons & armor, new quests, new dungeons, new trade skills, new crafting recipes, new NPCs, new PvP modes, increased level cap, mounts, and major changes & improvements.

I honestly think New World should've been released in Early Access last September rather than a full release, as the game is clearly still in development and should've fixed all the major bugs prior to a full release.

In any case, New World had a massive amount of untapped potential and I hope they manage to resurrect this game and bring many of the players back, though that honestly won't be easy after the disastrous launch last year.

Assuming they somehow manage to succeed, who else is excited for New World's first major expansion?

Got the game on the free weekend and i do enjoy it but the game just needs allot of qol changes

i got sick after a week of traveling final nail in the head was a 10min run 10min back only to be sent back again 40min on just a back and forth quest - give me a mount or let me teleport from any where not just a shrine also lower inn cool down and let us save at all inns at same time

guilds setting taxes needs to be removed not like you would craft in any city with high taxes any way

Crafting/gathering needs a change i tried to keep my crafting up vs my level - 100% impossible especially with any thing to do with mining

Dungeons that needs orbs and no dungeon finder

Mobs variety is horrible same with weapons at lest for the sword i mean its the same dang blade every time

RNG event did not help my thinking one bit as well

and one of the best things they can do for any game like this is retcon it being any thing to do with the real world and go full fantasy you can tell that there Spanish focus is hurting the game - looking at the sword blade lack of variety

But i wont buy a expansion to fix any of this needs to be fixed with base game

It may be where you are questing, but I haven't run into the issues you mention with time taking that long. There's a run buff speed if you stay on a road. I do try to strategically line up my quests though. In addition, now that I finally bought my first large house, I have another teleport (2 hr cooldown), but it lets me move my inn to another town. You can also teleport from town to town and from town to shrine and back.

I do agree, possibly having a 3rd travel point or tower in some of the zones may help. But for the most part I have fun exploring those areas and trying to get as much of the trade goods as possible. It usually doesn't take more than a few minutes to run somewhere - as long as I run straight and don't get distracted.

Given what I've seen of the game thus far and how the farming works, I'm actually leaning toward anti-mount at this point, at least pre-60 would agree there shouldn't be mounts. I see mounts only further complicating some of the other potential problems that are in the game, specifically related to the market and farming of goods.

For the gear portion, I think it depends on how you play. Since literally everything you do gives XP (and I believe I read that they buffed the current rate of XP gain vs. what it was at release), it is somewhat difficult to keep your crafting up with your level. That being said, I've never felt under-geared. Stuff drops constantly, and at least on my server if I need a new item, the market has been acceptable (outside of bag prices).

I found the mob variety to generally be OK. It changes a bit by zone and by area within a zone. For the first 20 levels or so it may not seem like it, but once you start hitting some of the various zones, you'll notice that mobs do change a bit, as do the visuals.

Anyway interesting points. I do agree they still have some work to do to improve the base game.

They're 100% going to increase the level cap by at least 5 levels per expansion.

They haven't officially announced anything about the first expansion, but we all know they're saving the best new content for the DLC.

For example, mounts were tested in PTR months ago but they're saving them for the first expansion.

Unless you cite legitimate sources, you're just(as usual) up to shenanigans

was at a high of 730+ .. now the free week is wearing off.. going right back onto its SOLID red standard.. =) Expansions? They are hiring .. of course they are.. I am sure half the people who started have already jumped ship.. or moved on to something that wont HINDER their careers..

So, all this "100% sure" is conjecture. Dude, you've admitted that you're trying to establish fact from hopeful optimism that has zero basis in reality. You've blown any credibility, you look like a fool, and you're actually hurting your own case.

This is exciting.

We've seen what they break by doing routines patches.

JUST IMAGINE what they can break by releasing a full expansion!

Oh yes.

File corruption through simple action prompts still on the betting table.

I would also put as a side bet: another skin pack causing server crashes!

I concur.
Yet you do the same thing. Irony.

New World will make a comeback with the first expansion and pass 1 million concurrent players one day. Mark my words

I do what? Troll the forums with my negativity - for a game I don't even own?

I admit the game isn't perfect. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy it. I also have no issue if someone doesn't like it. To each his/her own.

Did you read the post I responded to understand why I responded that way? I've pasted it below. If you can't understand the difference then... *shrug* I guess we agree to disagree.

Was curious so I found the job listing page for NW. It feels like a major problem with a lot of developers is that they don't directly hire quality assurance employees. They either use a third party or pay them part-time as 1099 employees.

https://screenrant.com/activision-blizzard-qa-testers-full-time-raise/

Hopefully more devs will switch to doing this and actually treating them like real employees. Maybe we'll get to see less games in the future that are so riddled with issues (not just bugs, but problematic features).

dont think we really need mounts with easy fast travel, but the player cap would keep me interested, thanks for the info

Just a friendly heads up, there is no info in this topic. It's purely fantasy.
