As Asmongold said, Micro Servers SUCK
I want to see multiple thousands of people on a single server. When I go out, I want to see people everywhere, with a reason to be there, together not solo, and enjoying the game because there are things to look forward to like content/raids. Yea, micro servers are b.s. Good that you need to add them, but bad implementation.

You want to see people everywhere? K, so, allow me to put something into perspective for you. Were you there at launch? I was. Did you see the 300+ campfires outside of EVERYTOWN? I did, did you see the multiple amount of players going "Where's flux?!" because no one could find any to make a fishing pole? I did. Did you have problems hunting boars/wolves early on? I did, etc.

Even with the servers being 2000-2200 the population in multiple areas was WAY too much. Now, imagine if the servers were double that size, you'd indeed see people everywhere and you'd also be complaining there were no nodes, all mobs were taken up etc. The only thing New World needs is cross server matchmaking for OPR and Dungeons, that's it. The world is fine how it is.

Kashra Falls, don't you miss being blinded when you leave a city from the sun's brightness worth of campfires?!

Totally! I got a taste of what it was like during the music event though. Ah the nostalgia.

I can see positives and negatives. Positives of micro servers are you do not have to wait in a line to kill mobs to finish quests. Negatives are the worlds feel empty. all depends if you like soloing or now.
swischeese Sep 25, 2022 @ 4:25pm
The world is never empty. you just need to go where the players are. Trains run all day exp hole always packed. Pvp Out post rush runs steady. When you hit 60 its all group stuff to do to progress. Tell asmongold he Sucks.

Never said they were empty. I said they feel empty which is subjective. Feeling empty could mean literally anything based of the person opinion. Of course they are not completely empty lol. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

The point is, that if the only thing to do is concentrate in a select area on each server, the entire world is dead except there. More content = reason to explore more. Of course, that would require actually fleshing the game out a bit and filling in all the void areas with actual purpose to be there, and that would take a lot more work than just adding a few micro servers. It'll die because they are more interested in retaining new players in a hurry, than giving current ones a reason to stay. How many leveled past 30 before quitting? Achievement progress is so low its laughable. The reason wasn't because there were too many campfires.

Except not? The other areas have their own charm, lore, completions, node collection, fishing spots etc. Not everything is about unga-bunga gotta kill everything mode. Yes, naturally people are going to flock to the higher level areas eventually and stay there, but the corruption system promotes going around the entirety of the map to clear the rifts etc. You don't HAVE to, but it is there if you want to. I mean, hell once I hit 60, I spent most of my time in cutlass and that place is 45 lol. Why? Good farming spots, a lot of quests over there, elite zones etc.

Because having to wait on enemy respawns is fun.
Because all the resource being gone 2 seconds after they spawn is fun.
Because server lag is fun.

Can't think of a single downside to this idea.

Any developer worth their salt could adjust for these issues. You're just making excuses for AGS to continue being bad devs.

Yet other games have managed it... with much higher player populations.

If ya think it is so easy, you're more than welcome to "Fix" this problem, because all of your ideas thus far from release (Why you're still around.) haven't been worth one grain of salt, let alone an entire bottle.

Fallacious argument. This is despite.... the fact, the road map I laid out nearly a year ago to turn things around... has been inline with what they ended up doing. Got it. So... if my ideas haven't been worth a grain of salt, them doing the same things as my ideas (which were just normal ideas) means their efforts haven't been worth a grain of salt.

People still dont understand that their headcannon idea of how mmos should work, dont actually work and they never can be that way.

ANY attempt to have 13241234 people on one server in one place at the same time, has never worked. NEVER not once. People have already explained in this thread why it cant ever work.

There is no game, there is no mmorpg, that can pull it off. None, zero. Yes i too enjoy the IDEA of it, but due to all attempts to do so, it cant work.

And no ashes is not gonna do it either.
