Terraria: modded Help - Golden butterfly

Recently started my first playthrough of terraria with mods and just picked the most popular and went deep into it.

modlist:
Veinminer v1.3.0.5
boss checklist v.02
magic storage v0.4.3.3
Thorium mod v1.5.1.2
calamity mod music 1.4.1.3
calamity mod 1.4.1.4

I've put in about 113 hours in the past 2 weeks so I think it's fair to say that I got hooked by the added features and boss fights and I turned into a complete completionist wanting to gather everything etc.

Well♥♥♥♥♥that playthrough, is the nicest way to put it.

2 recipes of the end-tier requires a Golden butterfly to be used.
I've sat for 4+ hours in various zones, experimenting with various farm layouts trying to get the maximum output of butterfly spawns.
I haven't seen a single one.

You'd think that the devs of the mods requiring the golden butterfly would increase the spawn rate of something like a golden butterfly as it's the only thing you can't make an AFK farm for unlike anything that requires to be killed.

I can't find a single character profile for share where I can fetch myself a golden butterfly and there's no mod as simple as "turns all critters golden" available. which is incredible considering how active this game still is and how big it is.


So now I'm going to my last resort, the discussion forums on steam. Any solutions?

I notice you are using thorium mod, have you got a butterfly charm in your inventory and also using a few butterfly lures spread out?

Very much so, I've tried a few variants of setups and even spread out over several bioms. My most succesful one was a set in a hollowed biome with off-screen spawning having a pretty consistent spawn rate

the 3 variants that I've spent the most time with.

trying to remove all normal monster spawns, off screening the butterflies from above the trees. barely got any spawns even with battle potion active.

Used the NPC's to reduce monster spawn. had a few spawns but very limited spawn area.

The most succesful one, being able to get 2-4 butterflies per time I went up and dowm to off-screen spawn them. I bricked this one when I killed the moonlord but it was in a attempt to see if even the golden butterflies were based on progression and tiers (as they are classified as tier 5).




My biggest concern is that I am doing a coin flip whether or not the mod is not bugged.
I can't seem to get ANY butterfly spawns without using charms or lures and even when I am using those, I don't get the default vanilla game butterfly spawns. caught more than 1000's of butterflies without seeing a default butterfly or a default monarch or a golden for that matter. however I do have 2 golden frogs and 4 golden squirrels.
