A Short Hike

Is the pretentious warning when disabling the pixel filter really necessary?
It's great that you included the option to disable the pixel filter, but the giant warning when turning it off is ridiculous. It has zero impact on the gameplay or the narrative; it's nothing more than an aesthetic choice. Forcing people to click through an info box about how the game will be adversely affected by turning it off is not only insulting, but it's not necessary. Let your users make their choice without trying to guilt trip them over it.

I turned the pixels down too, it was tiring my eyes a little. I’m glad the option was there.

"Let your users make their choice without trying to guilt trip them over it."

Let the developer make their choice about the game that they made, and how they want players to play it.

If that's sincerely your reaction to having to click through a simple warning ONCE, I honestly wonder how you can get at the end of every day in one emotional piece.

I think youare also overeacting.

All the artists is doing is letting us know what the intended experience was.
I am glad there was a warning, because i would have changed it too if it not for wanting to experience the game in its intended format.

I turned off the crunchy pixels at first, thinking it was a settings error. Didn't get any kind of warning - which is a shame! They must have got rid of it!

Thankfully I then decided that if the game defaulted to the massive pixels, that was probably the way it was intended, so turned them back on. Glad I did.

Bring back the warning!

Indeed, considering very few games allow for the player to simply remove aesthetical features and artistic decisions out of the blue.

Honestly, if you can't handle an artist simply stating their vision for the game THEY created while still giving you complete control and options to turn it off, I'd say maybe stay away from indie games or anything creative ever for that matter. This is seriously ridiculous and petty.

Just when you think you've seen the most entitled, whiny, weak complaint from the most thin-skinned, insufferable loser on the Internet, you come across yet another small jewel of small-minded foolishness & have your hopes dashed once again.

Congratulations, @IndigoAK, you win my coveted Dunce of the Week award. Good luck navigating the real world, I have a feeling there's a rude awakening out there with your name scribbled all over it.

I didn't feel insulted by that.
I prefered to play with a smooth graphic because it was better for my eyes, but I was glad to know and keep in mind which the native idea of the author is.

no need to fight; he wrote just once and maybe just needed to know what people thought to measure his mind on that.
I just finished the game (100%) and I'm in such a chill mood.. see people answer so bad without reason on the internet give me bad feelings now.
My opinion: ten persons tell him kindly but strongly that they think very different is positive.
One person answering so rude is negative.
