Cannot create ESO account
I just bought AoE III complete collection and tried to go online today. AoE kept gave me a 101 error (which would mean I already have an account linked to my code)
I used the eso recovery tool, and it said that there was NO account linked to my product ID, so clearly I don't have an account and can't create one.

eso.com/support.aspx - hit that up for ESO account support, submit a ticket and the community team will help you out (make sure to read the auto-reply, often it will require more info)

Why can't they intergrate steam mp into this game so that we can avoid ESO completely?? I hate having to log in to that system...it usually results in reset passwords and a headache. I want to create a game, click invite and play... but this is just too much to ask for I guess??

I'd buy the damn steam version if they'd impliment this feature as in aoe2.

^ exactly. I love aoe. I already own it on CD but decided to get this deal so I could use steam overlay and steam online. nope same ESO account crap. Shame

What solved mine was verifying the integrity of the cache. Also when you're trying to make an account go to the AOE3 base game none of the expansions. This solved it for me. GL

Hello --

Yesterday I bought "Age of Empires III: Complete Collection" off of steam.

Whenever I try to play an online match, I am asked for ESO account information -- which is where my problem begins:

(1) I have never created an ESO account.
Also, when I use the online tool to do a username lookup on my PID, it returns "no username is associated with this Product ID."

(2) Whenever I try to create a new ESO account (which can only be done from within the game?), I get an "101 error" - This CD Key cannot be used to create any further accounts.

However... I don't even have an ESO account? Nor is my Product ID tied to any accounts? I don't quite even understand what it means, nor do I know how to fix this.


Any help would be greatly appreciated!

the site http://agecommunity.com/support.aspx does not provide any button to "create a ticcket" or something else...

i'm in error 101 too.

I have the same problem too! It's a lovely game. I bought this game legally but EROR101 is ruining me. Why don't Steam not replace the old and danger ESO account with the high secure Steam account so that will make things hella better. Now I'm looking for anyone to sold their account. Shame myself D:

i solved the problem by doing a clean uninstall of the game. removing even the windows registers.

All this did not help me on my windows 10. I had to set the "user account control" down and give my user admin-rights. Then log off and log on. After that I could register a new ESO-account in Age of Empires 3.
After that everything worked fine even after switching back to the previous Win10-Settings.
