why in the name of age of empire do they stop working on Age of Empires Online?!?!
it is a frking great game!!! and i really want to continue playing this great game, atleast get the devs together once again and change the servers to steamworks, isnt it that hard??? dont let this great game fall appart, i had so much fun playing this great game...:rcry:

Yeaaah. I was feeling pretty sad this game was going away after having played 144 hours over the past 2 years, and tonight I had the bright idea of 'HEY LETS GIVE HIS RODEO ONE LAST GO'.... only to get 'Code 800706BA' error just trying to run it. FU Microsoft. Between stunts like this, Xbone, and Window8 it looks you're trying to sell yourself to Crapple.

Hello Sethreal,
I'm sorry that you're having trouble getting into the game.
Can you please try the following?:

- Check your ports/firewall settings
The following ports are required to be open to successfully play Age of Empires Online through the Games for Windows LIVE platform:
TCP 80
UDP 88
UDP 3074
TCP 3074
UDP 53
TCP 53
TCP 443
These ports need to be accessible through both your firewall and your router. For more information about opening ports on your router you should consult the instruction manual. To open ports in Windows 7 you should follow these instructions:

1. Navigate to this path Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Firewall
2. Go to the ‘Advanced Settings’ on the left side of the window
3. Right click on ‘Inbound Rules’ and select ‘New Rule…’
4. Choose to create a new Port rule
5. Select either UDP or TCP and specify the port
6. Repeat steps four and five until you have made rules for all the listed ports

For more information about your current networking settings you can run the Microsoft internet Connectivity Evaluation Tool found here:

- Try opening the Games for Windows LIVE Marketplace as an administrator (by right-clicking the icon and selecting Run As Administrator) and then re-launch AoEO.

- Can you log into the LIVE client?
- Do other Live games work?
- Check for Windows updates

Please let me know if any of this solved the issue.
If none of the solutions work for you, it may be an issue with the GfWL client and service. In that case, I suggest you contact LIVE support.
