Dota Underlords

Did Valve abandon this game without a word?
Like no announcement that at all? Just complete silence, no updates, but keep the servers alive? wtf is going on. This is so odd. I would expect this from just about any company EXCEPT one of the biggest names in gaming. How could they do this with zero communication like some one-man scamdev shop??

That is basicly what happened yes.
I understand if it wasn't popular, but a peak count was over 200k players. In hindsight it must have just been a side project for some of the devs at the time.
Yes Valve doesn't announce when they step away from games, they just silently do it by not releasing anymore updates for it.
This is literally what Valve does for every game. TF2? > Abandoned. HL3 > Abandoned.
Valve were scammers from the very beginning.
Valve is the same story with double standards and non-public obstacles in the game as in DOTA 2, all the same that was practiced in the liberal environment of Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, etc. When unwanted people were non-publicly destroyed in the information space.
Valve did the same.
Valve put players in unequal conditions depending on their own non-public rating.
And this was the reason why many people left this game.
And will never return because Valve has no reputation anymore. So this game will never be revived.

hello never played the game but cool
I was an alcoholic for 13 years, nothing but nonstop liquor and booze day after day, it nearly ruined my family. one day my wife has had enough and sent me to rehab and for 2 years since I was clean off the angy juice, I've been going to my kids games more, hanging with old high school friends, and been taking my lady out to dates again, but i could tell any false move could send everything tumbling down. my wife didn't know this one day she wanted to try a new sauce recipe for her spaghetti which included red wine. at the very taste of that sauce sent me so far back into my old way i drank EVERYTHING, from the pantry and wine room to the ones in the bathroom cabinet. it ruined my life as my wife had enough and left me and she took my boys but that ♥♥♥♥ still wasn't as depressing as this update
i love this game but last update was in 2020 ....

When they abandoned this game it was still pulling 15k - 30k active simultaneous players day to day. Most companies would kill for those numbers and it was also actively being monetized with a battle pass that was just added. Then poof Finol left Valve and the game's development died.
