Tim Pool's "Subverse"
So what's the deal here? He DID have the trademark to the name, "Subverse," before you guys, right? Granted ya'll are based in the UK, but how does that affect the game's name in the US?

I hope the parties can reach an out-of-court deal somehow. Both Studio FOW and Mr. Pool have big loyal followings (I'd assume there's some overlap as well) and it'd suck to have them clash. I think Studio FOW has an advantage in resources though, in the case of a legal battle.

He made a lil bit of salty video, cause it gets on his 3 years of work for the platform he creats. And its understandable. I hope there is a solution without a court or legal fee´s...

Common FOW Stuidoe, Tim isnt a SJW ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, im not really a fan of him, but he is one moderate left view on the things nowadays, and we all know how rare this is.

Very silly. One is a game, the other is a news organization. There's going to be no market confusion between the two.

I don't think Tim will win that battle.

Apparently Studio FOW was even aware of Tim Pool from a story he did months ago. There is a possibility that they even chose the name to spite him. If that is true, that is a very despicable thing to do.

The video in question:

Thats ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, legally they have every right to do it. one is a game and the other is a media platform. Tim is only salty cause he lostt the nr.1 spot on the google search engine.

chill out...

Trademark only effects businesses in similar industry. If Tim Pool's "Subverse" was a video game, there would be a problem. It doesn't matter though since this is a game and Tim Pool's is a news platform.

That's not true it's a brand name. He only has the name in the US so he can't really do anything about that but at the very least in the US he should win. It has already caused confusion which is harming his brand so I highly expect him to win.

Its rather strange this games creators has had prior interactions with Tim Pool after he has covered them and even contacted them for comment. By coincidence this game has used his brands name hes held for years and perhaps millions of people have seen his videos with subverse being promoted.

I would like this to be addressed so the worst possible interpretation isnt allowed to spread unchecked.

It could be marketing tactic. They know Tim Pool has alot followers and by using his name, he'd get angry about it and talk about the game thus bringing more traffic to the kickstarter. Just like Rockstar made fake outrage with Grand Theft Auto 1.

But, StudioFow was, according to Tim Pool, rude to him. So i'm not sure who to belive. To be honest, as long as the game is good and StudioFow are nice to their players, i'm going to bury my head in the sand and not care.

wow Tim's got a fight on his hand.

The name needs to go, its not sexy. All i think about when i hear "Subverse" is boring news.

StudioFOW do you really want to make people placid after hearing the name of your game?

"Hey guys come play our new sexy, mature porn game called,...(wait for it)...CNN!
Arghful 13 Apr, 2019 @ 3:54pm
As i said to Tim on his video, if they really took his name to get his followers and his range, its actually not a bad tactic.

And you know, we all fight and bleed in the culture war out here...

In the end we will see how it goes, i really hope they come to an understanding and a good compromise for both sides.
