Silksong Version 1.0.29909 public-beta details. Traditional Chinese added. German updated.
Heya All,

Version 1.0.29909 of Hollow Knight: Silksong is now live on the public-beta branch.

This is an in-progress patch, so expect additional fixes and tweaks over the coming weeks before we push it live for all.

Two localisation notes worth mentioning up front:

1. This version incorporates an option for Traditional Chinese language. This one builds off've the existing Simplified Chinese translation, with some minor changes.

2. Silksong's German translation has received some significant updates. This includes updating some proper nouns: Some enemies and npcs, and even a few area names (eg Shellwood). While we believe these changes are more accurate to the original English intent, we're also aware that too much change may cause confusion within the German community. German players, please check out the updates and let us know your opinions! We are prepared to make adjustments per your comments.

Huh, really? No other explosions get damage reduction from Lava Bell, and if any explosion deserved to deal 3 masks, it was definitely the last judge self destruct. Seems like a downgrade to me.

Probably, though, you aren't supposed to be caught in the explosion anyway.

This one was surprising to me too! I just figured it was like that on purpose to mess with people.
Apparently some of Mount Fay was changed and now it's not possible to climb it in act 1 (without Clawline)? If so, it's a bug and should get fixed back.
silk soar through top scene exits 🔥
Hey Team Cherry, why do you keep removing tool bounces?

Tons of games have unintended exploits like that - exploits that let skilled players get more out of a game. Some highly beloved games like SM64 and OoT have absolutely bonkers exploits and glitches that speedrunners make use of.

Why not just leave that stuff alone and give people the freedom to screw around more?

This would suck bigtime if true, I did Act 1 Mount Fay in my most recent playthough and it was super fun and technical. What exactly has been changed and where did you hear this?

if this means what I think it does then you guys are EVIL. volt pogos didn't harm anyone and saved a ton of time in speedruns.

yeah, exactly. they take skill to pull off and patching out minor exploits like these for seemingly no reason feels so unnecessary.

Weren't volt pogos patched out ages ago along with conch cutter pogos? Guessing if you saw someone use one recently it was because they were playing on a lower patch. I'd have to agree its something id like to see put back in though, harmless fun skip with a high skill ceiling and a punishing resource cost for failure. Guessing all this patch note means is that these still worked in some obscure circumstances and now no longer do, no clue what those circumstances could have been though.
please add buffer inputs to drifters cloak and swinging the needle
silksoaring from moss grotto to blasted steps is the best thing ever
