Why did my maximum silk just decrease, is that a bug?

i don't know if this is a bug or not, but after falling into the water in sinners road and curing the infection, my max silk is back down to what it was at the start of the game

I have the same bug. Getiing spool fragment recover silk gage temporarily, but it decreases over time.

If you die, your max silk will be reduced to the starting amount until you retrieve your death cocoon (like how in HK, your max soul was reduced until you collected your shade)

It completely recovered after changing crest few times and dying a few times to the silkweaver.

It's not a bug. You get it when you recover your cocoon
