Cutscenes Not Working
So I've experienced an Unusual Thing. For every cutscene after the intro, (bell beast, discovering the big town, weaving the new cloak) they completely don't work. A black screen. Bell Beast travel cutscene is always just black, but when I click it ends. Every other cutscene is a straight black screen softlock that only fixes after several restarts. Is anyone else experiencing this, and does anyone else know how to fix it?

I had this issue and I fixed it, just like Captain Rob. Hopefully my solution works for y'all. I had the exact same problem in Blue Prince (maybe you see the first cutscene you encounter, but the others are black). I went to the Nvidia Control Panel, Manage 3D Settings -> Program Settings -> (add the silksong executable. (google 'how to find the folder of a steam game' if you don't know where it is)) -> Vertical Sync -> Use the 3D Application Setting. (I also set my game to borderless instead of full screen). My in game video settings are Vsync on, framerate cap off, borderless window (as mentioned). I hope this helps you as it helped me!

You are a LIFESAVER. I would have never figured that out on my own.
Is there any fix for amd yall have figured out
Is there any fix for AMD cards? Just bought Silksong and am disappointed that I can't continue to play the game :(
I had the same problem and the vertical sync solution did not work for me but after adding the media feature pack for windows it was fixed. from the start menu -> add or remove programs -> in the find setting search bar search for add optional features -> add media feature pack and restart your computer after installation. should work after that.

This does not work on windows11
(For context I am using version 24H2 of win11)
I’m on windows 11 home with amd gpu and I fixed it by updating drivers and then buying HEVC video extensions from the Microsoft store (it’s only a dollar)

My AMD GPU is a Radeon RX Vega M GL graphics card so it can't receive new driver updates. Still waiting for the devs to implement a fix for this ingame.

If your travel and other cutscenes are just showing a black screen while audio plays, it could be a codec issue. Unity relies on built-in video decoders, and sometimes they're missing or broken.

A quick fix is to install the K-Lite Codec Pack (Standard), which restores proper playback support.
This worked for me when nothing else did: changing VSync, fullscreen/borderless, veryfing game files, etc.

Steps:
1 - Download K-Lite Codec Pack – Standard from codecguide;
2 - Run the installer (defaults are fine, important to allow it to reset/repair configs);
3 - After install, restart your PC;

I can confirm this works. I have a Radeon RX 580.
