AppCrash error
I'm curious to know how many others have had the unresponsive appcrash error when working on a project using Silo 2, maybe it's because I'm working on my laptop but it seems just a little odd. stightly Vexing but I make it a point to save work every so often and reload from auto save, but it's still annoying just the same.

i have had one whenever i try to add an object, it just says 'Silo 2 is not responding' and crashes

yeah I've noticed it'll happen when your trying to give to many commands at once additionally when working on something that is subdivided, seems the rendering engine cascades a little

even if i only do one thing, dust do ctrl+c?

ctrl+c causes your first of if I remember correctly three image subdivids. that could cause you to have an appcrash if your graphics card is being over taxed because the application runs all necessary algorithms and quantum mathematical data processing for you, so if your processor and or graphics can't keep up that maybe an issue. Not that that's what is going on but in written essence it's an idea.

ment alt+c soz, and my graphics card is very new and i have a quad core processor so its not thoese 2, but i am inclined to believe that its the program, because there are alot of people with this happening to them too

Try using it on a desktop?

I have had one graphics glitch type problem but that may be due to my graphics card (facepalm) but I haven't had any crash errors like that and as for one of the other responses I haven't experienced the application not responding and I have been creating quite highly detailed models and even whole levels in this program.

Your laptop just probably isn't agreeing with what you're trying to do... That would be my assumption anyhow. Is it a low/high spec laptop?

It's a high spec laptop though I haven't had this or any issue since I first started using it, turned out to be a lag rending issue for me during the three phase sub-divid phase easy fix though. simply use sub-division as a check tool while working on the bigger picture once sub-division is something worth doing to keep using advanced sub-dividing works fine. My biggest curiousity came from the fact that honestly not many people use Silo-2 and the usual issue for people in general is that they want programs that basically allow them to coast through instead of putting in work. I find this to be the case with most things observantly.

Ahh ok, you would be surprised at how many peopel complain and are using outdated hardware though!! So I had to ask lol

I think that there are a good few people that use this software I know at least 3 people personally that work in the industry that use it professionally and I know a handfull of freelancers that use it also. You're right though, there are not nearly as many users using this as opposed to the other softwares similar to it at least it would appear so anyhow. Not that it matters much as long as you use and lvoe it =]

Kind Regards
Patrick

No worries, I always find it better to ask the question when you don't know then to assume knowing the answers without ever asking questions
