CS 1.6 can't hear players speaking in microphone.

I can't hear others but they can hear me apparently.
Receiving doesn't work at all. When people talk I see their name display on the right hand side but it flashes very rapidly (keeps disappearing) and I don't hear any sound at all from their mic.

However, I've tested sending mic transmissions and the players say they can hear me.
I searched it on internet and they say its about latest update thing and the servers i entered is not updated to this latest update. so what can i do to hear them ? any suggestion please help.

well, this problem is normally, is because you are playing with no steam players, you can hear only steam players

is there anyway to hear non-steam players ?

"not sure what the robot voices are but I have heard people mention it, the Miles and Speex voice codecs are no longer used, it has been changed to use Steam Voice Codec." I found this line from old steam forums the admin "B-Mack" wrote it. if i can change void codecs to old ones can i hear them ? or does this thing related to my problem ??

yes but, the patch for hear No steam players, Has sometimes normally errors where you need click Enter, is an patch for hear NS players, Visions D3D enabled, Bits selector, but too you hear Robots voices

It worked man, in first it gived a lot of errors but now it works. i can hear non-steam players in servers! thank you very much !

with the patch can we hear both clients ? Steam and non-steam ?

cuz it's really bothering me. you know even if they're illegal clients we have to hear them.
most of the servers are illegal so ?? valve would you please allow us to hear non-steamers.

Im fixing MSS32.DLL problem, so Steam will hear nonsteam players
