Then support it! Pre-order or back the Kickstarter in a few days!
(also this would be best in the comments, as it's a comment and not a discussion)

Seriously, the amount of money it cost me was nothing compared to what I can see I will be getting back. Excellent visuals, great sound, non linear levels, multiplayer co-op, fitting soundtrack. I got the spearhead without hesitation. It seems to me like a mix between Doom 3 and Killing floor. I just hope it isn't going to be one of those games that looks and sounds awesome then turns out to be really bad, although i'm impressed thus far and I have faith in Zero Point!

Of course it costs money. How could it be free? The wonderful guys at Zero Point Software are like all people and, as much as they would love to, can't work more than full-time for free, as they have to pay for food and rent, just like everyone else. And seriously, even if you were to buy the first game for the full price of $20, it's still totally worth it. Think of it: maybe less than a week of burgers or coffee to have a wonderful, fun experience. And don't go thinking it should be free to play, because this is NOT the style of game that would work well with F2P. The entire game would suck if it was F2P.
