but they stated on kickstarter the problem is they are using UDK, which doesn't support linux. If Epic games adds in linux support to UDK or they get enough money to get Unreal source + icculus's help, then it could happen.

the new build of UE 3 supports linux, but it needs alot of work i heard from tripelwire

Icculus ported Unreal Engine to Linux a long time ago and has updated it since, porting UDK games like Dungeon Defenders. Minority, the Papo & Yo publisher, also did Papo & Yo and Antichamber.

UDK are monthly binary-only releases and quite restrictive, so the game would basically be ported to an UE3 branch: http://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/icculuss-thoughts-on-unreal-engine-3-games-on-linux.1593
