Why?
Anyone else think this is sort of unecessary considering that MMD is already a free program? I mean, unless it comes packaged with PMD and some MME effects, I suppose that's okay in a sense. Then again, theres the issues with models. Would Steam allow pre-downloaded models? As far as I'm concerned MANY model makers don't like their work being sold without getting any profit in return and that usually doesn't happen.
Whoever thought greenlighting this program was a good idea, it's quite the contrary in my opinion because once it does release even MORE disgusting otaku scum are going to make videos with their precious waifus and senpais AND we're going to have even more trash fandom based crap like FNAF and Creepypasta. That's just my opinion. MMD has grown as far as animation goes and with Steam we might uncover even more excellent animators, but we can already do that by simply downloading the program. I'm just appauled, honestly. I personally believe MMD should stay free? I'm not sure what else to say besides the fact that I fear greatly for the MMD community and the oncoming crud this will cause.

From what I've been told, people would feel more safe about downloading it from steam. They are suspicious of the software so they think that if they get it through steam, it will be 100% safe. I never really planned on getting MMD myself due the fact that the one time i did try, it contained a worm. Whether or not it was false, people like me don't like to take a risk. Now I'm not saying that they should bring it to steam for that very reason but I'm not against it either. I'd like to say that I'm neutral about this. I honestly won't be affected by this because I'm not going to get it, I just find the outcomes of the program to be pretty cool, given the fact that some users are actually talented. Now I do agree with the fact that a lot of crappy stuff could come out of this and then some good stuff will come out to. But no matter what, having this on steam will give others the chance to discover it, because not everyone knows about it. I'm probably not making any sense, since I'm tired xD but i just felt like contributing to the topic
