The current engine does not support it. Spicy Tails will have to answer the actual question if they will implement the art and assets required. Sekai Project can assist in porting to a newer engine to support Steam features.

I second this. I'm personally not much of a card collector, but if Spicy Tails can come up with some really pretty cards then I'm definitely very interested as well. Thanks so much! ^_^

I don't know much, but I presume Steam Trading Cards are independent from the actual game. Rather they are awarded by launching the game which Steam keeps track of. Though, if the game was to feature decent rewards from collecting the trading cards (steam profile backgrounds, smileys, and badges), I imagine the interest in the game to be higher.

You don't need to implement Steamworks at all - just make sure to run the game from the Steam client and it will do the rest.

I don't really care that much, but hey, pretty cards don't harm. Bonus points if they feature nice exclusive artwork.
