Engine update
Will the game be optimized for the newer windows OS? (higher resolution, function on windows 7 & 8 etc.)

I actually just tried downloading and playing the free episode from your website, and it will not even run on my windows 8 PC. I would be more than happy to pay for these games, as long as they work on my computer.

Hey Lwlz, this is a great question. As we've mentioned in other discussions, we can't seem to find the original assets or source code. Actually, the original project data was on a hard-drive that experienced a melt down. So... we may not be able to update the game at all. If we can't - and we get a Greenlight - then we'll have to mark the game as NOT working on Win8 (or find a way to make it work that doesn't require source code). We'll see.

Just know that we are aware of this and we are working to find a solution. :)

awesome! I actually did get it working. in the .exe properties, I ran as admin and in widows XP compatability mode and it worked just fine. However, not everyone is as computer savvy...

And... not long after I posted that note about the source code being lost... IT HAS BEEN FOUND!! Yay! So... that means we'll work on getting the builds updated and make sure they will run on Win8, etc.

Lwlz, not sure about achievements. Depends on many things. Let's see if we Greenlit first... then we can explore achievements. Our entire team is really busy right now making improvements to Akaneiro (which is already in Early Access) and developing a new game... to take them away from those tasks to research how easy/hard achievements in Grimm might be... I'm afraid all the Akaneiro fans would burn down our studio ;)

hahaha completely understood. I don't much blame you guys for investing efforts in other places. From the way you have talked about it; Grimm seems like it was more damaging to Spicy Horse than it did help.

You guys should definitely put some work into the graphics if you plan to sell at 9.99. Just my 2 cents.

What is with your obsession with the graphics? And why do you have to repeatedly post this in multiple threads? What EXACTLY is wrong with the graphics anyway?

On topic: Devs, the price is awesome ($9.99 or lower), you say you're going to dig into the source code to let them run on modern computers --- I have no further concerns. :D Let the Greenlightenment commence! :D

Grimm (and Sam & Max) were the only reason I ever bothered subscribing to Gametap more than one month. Can't wait to see them here! I'm thinking of changing my Steam avatar to Grimm! I'm using a lot of exclamations marks! Huzzah!

yeahh i really hope for achievments... in fact alice madness returns lost much apeall for me just cause someone was not able to put achivements in there^^

Please note that the "someone" you refer to in this instance is EA. We the developer (Spicy Horse) don't have control over what happens with Alice, where it is/isn't published, whether or not bugs get fixed or even if achievements are put in. With our own self-published games we do our best to take care of these kinds of things :)
