I think this weapon should have a charge, because of the spring-like thing near the head. The user holds the attack button to pull back the head, and it does damage based on how far back the weapon is. A minimal charge does 5-10 damage, medium 30-50, and a fully charged hit 90 - 110. The weapon takes 2.5 seconds to fully charge. If the weapon misses, the head swings back and hits the user for damage based on what it would have done if the head had hit something.

And maybe 10% slower movement speed when deployed for the inevitable rush of "OP" replies.

meh normal hits are worth near around 45-70 anyway and it would take less time and 2.5 seaconds to reduce for example lets say a scout to 15 health you can hit once anyway but through that 2.5 seaconds the scout could of got out the way well a sniper could of too but the scout would be more of a threat soldier is the 2nd slowest ofc but anyway cool looking weapon

and just about the charge thing MAYBE the weapon does normal damage unless crits no matter what but mayeb the 2.5 charge could be to pull the spring back and when you hit a enemy it knocks them back depending on the charge?

So rapidly tapping would get around 5-10 and fully charging gets around 90-110?
To be honest, the 10% move slow would actually make this weapon really bad, because a normal shovel would do 65 damage every 0.8s, which is around 3 hits in that time, which is actually 195 damage, making the charge hits very worthless.

Instead, the damage should be...

Every 0.3 second of charge, 15 damage is added from a base of 55 (No damage if the charge is under 0.3s)
Charges up to 3s (55+150), after 4s, the pickaxe crashes (bounces back, killing yourself.)
Oh, no random crits and cannot be crit boosted. (Minicrits always work, which is powerful)

This basicly rewards soldiers that can time their hits very well, which can kill any class not overhealed but heavy.

i think the taunt should be an exploding taunt and if it has a colection one of the stats could be no explosive from player
to their self

I think it should have a cool down time, becase 2.5 seconds seems a bit fast if it can do 90-110 damage

Taunt could be the soldier pogosticking around on the pick...
