Dungeon Fall
Story draft for Dungeon Fall
Rosame, a young woman living in a very poor kingdom where famine is widespread, decide to become a "professional" thief in order to sustain herself and take care of her younger sister.
She then ear rumors about a freshly discovered mountain's cave which contain a fabled, priceless treasure... but is also told that no one came out alive from it. She think this may be the hideout of some very rich cultists or catacombs and thus choose to make it her next target (she learned herself in traps probe/disable... what she does expect to find most)
But once she get into the dungeon she falls in the very first trap on the entrance... which will keep her "trapped" in this underground universe for the whole story.
Anyway, it's a black cloud (which is made by very small, poisonous, carnivorous, indefinite insects) that chase her permanently forcing her to dive in the deeps of relentlessly .
Each level is divided by protective rooms (which works as game level-goal and where Rosame can rest a bit)...and after a certain number of those rooms (levels) she will finally reach one of the 3~4 four underground towns (NPC, "houses" and stores) where you can: collect/complete quests, know about the story or have just random chit-chatting with other NPC.
When you reach a new town you're given the chance to access to mysterious "elevator" that make possible to you repeat course already done (those elevators are the "real" path used by the underground citizens to travel between the underground towns: the path/road death-traps is only for foreigners like Rosame).
The main quest is to "unlock" all towns (descending down below) until Rosame did manage to get enough trust from the underground community and let them get outside (alive). Anyway, sometime in the story she'll be offered to stay and live as underground citizen like everyone... but it's "story locked" her refusal since she had to return to her, probably, starving sister.
More details about "how this people live underground?", "who and why built this dungeon?" etc are question that will be answered during the game (quest or points)
