Saving and Loading Multiplayer games.
Q: How do you save a multiplayer game?
A: In game, walk over the Save tile and a saved game file is automatically generated. This file can be loaded from the main menu screen. NOTE! Your game is not automatically saved when you quit the game!

Q: How do you load a multiplayer game?
A: From the main menu screen, select LOAD and chose the saved game file that you wish to load. The game will immediately load. You will see your multiplayer teammate's names and health also displayed. At this point the other players can go to MULTI > JOIN and enter your IP address to connect to the multiplayer game you have loaded. Huzzah! Your multiplayer progress has been saved.

It's worth mentioning that the players have to join in the order they did initially.

Player 1 has to host, Player 2 has to join first, Player 3 joins next, and then Player 4.

Yes, this is an excellent point. However, until that changes, it can actually be a cool "Feature". If you realize that life as a paladin is boring as heck, you can log in as the Ranger for a while.* If it does happen accidentally though, the players can disconnect from the host and reconnect in the right order. You are playing with skype/ventrillo/mumble anyway right?

*Note: Could cause friendship drama.

How do you make a multiplayer game that you have loading from the load screen private? It never goes to the hosting screen where you can select options and have people join before the game starts.

I also have the same problem that I cannot make Loaded games private
