Thanks for uploading a beta - I just played it (and have been looking forward to playing since I saw the first video of Hammerwatch).

While I like the graphical style, and general gameplay of Hammerwatch (I loved Gauntlet when I was a kid), I was surprised to find the control scheme is also very much a clone of Gauntlet (or what I can recall now).

I'll admit I was hoping for a more modern top down shooter (/twin stick shooter) control scheme; I find the whole "shoot in the direction you last walked, and stop moving while shooting" really frustratingly clunky and archaic (to be fair I found it clunky back in the day as well!).

To contrast, I think a great example of a modern Gauntlet is http://teleglitch.com/ (although its more frenetic than Gauntlet ever was - almost uncomfortably so, but thats what they were going for and it works). {LINK ÎNLĂTURAT} is another great example of what I mean.

I would guess a radical change in control scheme would require a fair amount of redesign of combat and obviously it isnt your vision (else youd have built it), but I hope you'll experiment with a modern control interface - Id love to buy and play another "modern Gauntlet with great controls" (and Hammerwatch looks really great bar the control scheme).
