Your favourite thing about Dungeon Keeper?
Personally, there's too many things to list. The atmosphere, the humour, the fact YOU were the bad guy for a change. Loved the music and the fact you could even go 1st person inside of your minions too......... WFTO looks really fantastic already.

What was your favourite aspect/memory of the 2 games?

All of the above, of course, first of all dark and gloomy, but someway cozy atmosphere of my dungeon (you got it already, i think). Moreover, the interaction of minions, the development of my dungeon, training minions, building traps, fighting heroes, playing for the BAD side (It's good to be bad). Well, you guys were playing Dungeon Keeper, Evil Genius, Overlord and you know yourself very well what we all love in these games.

Everything you guys said but DK2 had also pretty simple mechanics which kept the game fun and addictive. I hope they don't try to touch everything like Dungeons did, it totally ruined the game for me. I just can't have fun on Dungeons like I did on DK2.

The sense of humor, the fact that you could get the "heroes" to join your cause, TONS of spells (DK1 creatures), the overpowered yet fun Horned Reaper from the first game, building and taking care of your creatures were the features i found amazingly fun when i was a kid.

And everything else ... I never loved a game more than DK1 / DK2.
Something really imnportant for me is the ecosystem : creatures fighting, angry because they don't like any other creature, because they are bored, or sometimes we don't know why ...

If we compare with the upcoming project, I like imps, with their suffering faces. They were both sorry and wanted to slap them one more time. Once you understand that you are evil.

Still in the game was not very smooth wall, which played at the general atmosphere.

Both games were great and I like a lot of things from them, but if I have to pick, I will choose the dungeon building.

Some maps did not allow for much choice, but the ways you could organize everything, following several patterns like creating a bunch of simple squares to a more refine desing, doing eficient building and my favorite: mimic some scenarios like using the DK2 barricades and canons to simulate frontlines or building huge treasauries in a "fortnox" style with alarms and guardpost.

At the end of the game you would look to a dungeon that looks pretty, works well and is all yours.

The humor,
The imps having clean and simple features (and isnt designed to be ugly) and big puppy eyes.
The big hand slapping the imps to make them work faster.
Turning heroes into minions.(would have prefered if they had their own unique room to build a "lair" in though)

One of your minions hitting a jackpot, fireworks and Disco Inferno starting up, and all your monsters going to the casino to dance. Always stopped whatever I was doing to watch and drop in more minions.

[Like]:
1. (DK1) Capturing then Torturing and converting heroes, evolving that Thief you could get on the 5th level into a Knight (lord of the land), for the following 20 levels just instantly winning the game by rush-burrowing into the enemy's base using the lvl 10 possesed Lord of the Land to slaughter anything in its path, rival keepers and foe heroes alike for the next 20 levels and each rival-keeper map thereafter. ;)
2. (DK1) Temple Sacrifacing
3. (DK1) Watching creatures eat
4. (DK1) the Humor.
5. (DK1) The sounds of the attacks (loved the seeker-missile the demonspawns had)
6. (DK1) Bile-Demons, Dragons (design), Demonspawns
7. (DK1) Ingeneral creative creatures not seen anywhere else in other games.
8. (DK1) Preparing a hallway of doom, (a water-door across an entire corridor inbetween each water-door with 1 boulder/lightning trap for variation with 2 sideroom each side containing a Horned Reaper, ready to unleash its anger upon its ususpecting foes.)
9. (DK1) Traps, Planning for Such
10. (DK2) Drag and drop function for building rooms/marking tiles.
11. (DK2 ) Combat Pit, and Ghost-Trap (those things scared the ♥♥♥♥ out of me)
12. (DK1) Secrets, Economy
13. (DK2) Mana, mana was a good addition but i felt it was abit too limited in DK2, like it should be purchaseable with gold, or have a libary research to make the mana generate
quicker.

[Dislike]:
1. (DK1) Scavenger Room - It messed multiplayer up.
2. (DK1) Guard-Posts (felt useless and a waste of gold, needed buffs to the guarding
creature)
3. That Tentacles were such a pain in the ♥♥♥♥ to get but still sucked for a late-game creature.
4. (Orc) You just got way too many of them.
5. Flies/Hellhounds running attracting suicidal battles solo
6. Useless creatures without much of an advantage/use to smaller or easierly attractable creatures in late-game (hellhound, beetle, fly sucked) tentacle was too hard to get but handy for freeze but spiders did the trick easier and better)

My favorite part is that your minions are so diverse and have more personalities for AI's then most games today have. I mean seriously, you didnt have to micromanage these guys. If you let them go off on their own, they would do their own job, feed and take care of themselves. They had attitudes, personalities, likes/dislikes, etc. They had so much personality in them, and considering that they were all NPC's was even more impressive. Thats why I play DK games, because I can watch the lives of my minions and see what happens. Its always new and exciting to watch! :D Oh and I loved the Dungeon Keeper Mentor's voice. Civilized Evil is always the best kind of evil ;)

One thing and one thing only stands out as the thing I love most in DK, and that is the feeling you get of the fact you have built a living breathing ecosystem out of your dungeon.

I loved the action packed speed that was in Dk1,t hough I feel dk2 was slower. I find dk1 better because you know you gotta hurry, build, get monsters and train them before the enemy, and you know that the enemy also has all the tools you have, building alot and fast too. Also the secrets where very fun to search and find. Great feature in the game.

Slapping chickens. Or just generally slapping stuff. Also the mixture of RTS and simulation game really rocks - it is a sad thing that most modern games are specialised into either one of those.
