I love the overall idea of UO in 3d, EA UO need to do this themselves!!
It would stop crap games like this one being pumped into our faces.
This game is not worthy to play today!! it is worthy of going back into re development by a new developer to get it at least to beta stage, which it currently isn't even close too...except possibly..ALPHA!
"Crafting (...)still no different from most MMO's out there."- Most mmos have a simplistic crafting based on recipes, where a set list of arbitrary items of certain quantity give you a set item from a very limited list. MOs crafting does not work like that and thus does not work like in most mmos.
Rest seems ok.
Point is, if I am a noob or actually stuck around to play, the bugs kill this game either way. If you have no money its a decent free mmorpg to kill the time with. If you have money, there is much better quality games without amatuer bugs that should not be in a 3 year old pay to play game.
yeah for the bug part i totally agree. for the other part i can't, because in the sandbox area there are only a few more game worth trying (maybe only eve online and UO). mortal is not a simple mmorpg, is a sandbox (the others are called themepark, if you don't know the difference please search more info elsewhere), that's the big difference and that's why many pay to play, instead of simply switching to guild wars 2 or some other ♥♥♥♥.
This game has many features of UO (which I am a fan of) but the bugs really distract me from enjoy the finer aspects of the game.
I am not trying to discredit MO because I hope it does great and fixes the problems because as many of you said the market for this genre is slim to none. I still dont regret voteing for this game.
But unfortunatly for now I wont be playing MO but who knows they clean up these bugs and I would be more than happy to devote time to this game to enjoy those great features.
CROWDFORGING BABY!
Making a review of an Sandbox MMO after 2 days of gametime feels like a troll to me.
And by saying a lot of false things (that makes me think that you may haven't even tried the game) I don't see how your review could help a possible buyer decide if he should purchase Mortal Online nor a possible voter for greenlight.
So whats the point in the review, well if this gets on steam I see many people quiting within the first week and the devs really should polish out the bugs before leting it loose to steam. It does not take years of playing to realize that.
I still wish MO luck and look forward to a non alpha version of the game but timing is everything on steam and if it makes it on steam now then I see it hurting the game more than anything.
