Flightless

User Content?
Should "Flightless" players be able to download levels from other users. This game has a lot of potential so I would like feedback

I think the workshop would be a great idea. This game is about puzzle, so it would be good to let the users make their own levels.

That sounds like a great idea.

There is going to be a lot of "ifs" though, If nitrome allows there to be user levels and if people are willing to make them

I think we would need to release a game that has an editor in it with a server-side infra-structure to handle and curate all of the user levels.

This was experimented with with the Hot Air 2 balloon maker. It crippled the running of the website and the number of submissions to look through (most of them rude) was so large that it would require a member of staff to permanently stop making games just to deal with them all. So it had to be switched off.

Let us get user accounts working first...

(first things first, holy ♥♥♥♥ you responded)Ok thanks for the feedback, im not fully in tune with all the techy magics slang, so your first paragraph was a little incomprehensble to me. Do you think itll happen eventually though, Thanks again for responding.

@KappinKrunch: Explanation (at least, what I was able to understand):

I think we would need to release a game that has an editor in it with a server-side (located in a server) infra-structure (something to operate the server) to handle and curate (moderate) all of the user levels.

O.k. I thought there was a glitch that got rid of it!

First of all, I'm absolutely overjoyed that you guys have put a game up for Steam Greenlight. You guys certainly deserve it.
Secondly, would there be any way of having online multiplayer servers for 2 or 4 even? So many things could be implemented into this great concept, like different types of ladders for each player. Maybe something like when there are 2 players, they split the ladder types, but one player gets it all when they're alone. Of course, that would take a lot of time and technical stuff that i can't even comprehend, so i guess it won't happen.

level editors are not that easy
nitrome (I am almost positive) doesnt use one to make their games, it is quite uncommon. So its not just allowing us to use it.
And about it having a lack of potential... It definitely does have potential
Nitrome can take any game and level design the crap out of it
but remember they are an indie company; and this is their second game that they are making for purchase; not on their website
So they aren't the best at marketing - plus last time rovio stars(see potential) did most of their marketing for them
IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING BAD TO SAY JUST PLAY THE DEMO

SteamLands has a Level Editor. That's how they got the levels for the SteamLands Player Pack.

I think level editors and user-created features would be great if possible. I find that games with no ending, or multiplayer games, tend to be more entertaining.

I agree with workshop compatability. Also i think there should be multiplayer racing mode in which two players compete to get to the top of the level
