Enable the developer console in the settings menu. I can't remember which submenu it's in, but poke around.
Once you have that done, use whatever key you have bound to bring it up and close it. Default is the ` (~ if that helps). Have fun!

Click on Options, then Keyboard/Mouse.
On the list of items, set Allow Developer Console to Enabled.
Once this is enabled, you can open the console with the tilde key (~/`).

Options > Keyboard/Mouse > Advance Tab > Tick box for enable console.
