Well, I haven't gotten any item yet nor do I expect anytime soon. Though that is beside the point. I got into creating items for Dota 2 thanks to the best guide I ever read "Dota 2, Weapon Creation Tutorial - Pudge's Offhand" which was written by Lennyagony. I highly recommend he is added to the mentor list. One cannot find a detailed step by step guide as this.

I feel Cyborgmatt might be a good choice. He's been quite helpful to a lot of workshop contributors with his model viewer and Dota 2 SFM tutorials. He also provides a general insight to users every week.

I would like to second Lennyagony's Pudges Offhand Tutorial. I keep it open while I make items and refer to it constantly. It was the first (and arguably the best) all-in-one tutorial I found. I have seen others, but I keep going back to the Offhand tutorial.
+1 for Lennyagony to be added to the list!

At first I was like, this is awesome, I can now support tools, organizations, and other charities, then I saw users being added to the list and I can't understand why. It seems silly to me to add them for the simple reason of making a guide. It just doesn't make sense.

With that being said, the following organizations should be added to this list.

-DOTA Cinema
-JoinDOTA
-Beyond the Summit
-GD Studio
-StarLadder
-Facepunch
-The ESport teams going to the international this year are a given.
-Cyborgmatt (not for his guides, but for his time spent disecting patches each week)
-Child’s Play Charity
Because supporting Charity is a good thing.
-Cannonfodder, for his helpful tools.

Oh, I don't know. I think it's a good thing. Making and supporting a guide like the one mentioned is no trivial thing be it an individual or an organization, and it directly helped in the making of items (which was specifically one of the intentions of the rev. split as it says). I agree that some of those you mention would be a good add as well. Adding individuals doesn't take anything away from this, and if you prefer not to donate to people, then stick with organizations.
Cheers!

I agree with you about Lennyagony, his guide is far better then anyone elses.

Neogaf, Live workshop, when Flipside tactics releases their art armory it also could be a good community to help out, also I wonder if you guys would ever put Child's Play charity in as well?

You forget add Dota2.ru, www.playdota.com, and www.experiencedota.com. That's websites very useful to give proper feedback and support for their admins or some members to submit their item to steam workshop....

Let me know!

I second the guys above! Lennyagony's guide is perfect and if you have questions he is always there to help! He should be someone to follow for whoever is thinking of making a guide for dota2 items!

I third the guys above for Lennyagony's guide. I think OP should check this guide http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=123397498
to become your reference. Also I suggest to OP please add "special guide mentor badge" with grant 500 XP similar Steamworks Developer Badge for users and communities in your Service Providers current list. I think it would add more motivation to provide more useful content for steam community...

I wouldn't be involved in the workshop without it! Very good resource for new modellers.

Definitely Lennyagony. His guide helped me a LOT, mainly with baking and masks. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=123397498
