im looking for 3D modelers to turn my concept art into 3D items for tf2.
i have some ideas for christmas themed items and im looking for 3D modeler(s) to turn my ideas into 3D models for the workshop (christmas uodate). if all or any of these items interest you, then leave a comment on which one(s) you would like to do. also i know im not the best artsist so i apologize for that.
1 misc item (not part of any item sets)
-1. gift grenades: a grenade replacement item. the bow can be team coloured and the body could be paintable. looks something like this:
-2. snowmann: a hat that takes up all of the head and is not team coloured. (like the monoculous hat or the horseless headless horsemans head). could also work as a grenade misc. has 4 styles. style 1 it has a simley face and a top hat. style 2 it has a smiley face but no top hat, style 3 it has a frowny face and a top hat. and style 4 it has a frowny dace but no top hat. concept art for it:
-3 the little snowmenn: grenade misc replacements. are full bodied snowmen. concept art for it:
2. the skiing scout item set.
1. the melee, a ski pole: team coloured ski pole with 2 styles, brand new and bent and broken. concept art for it:
2. the primary: a force-a-nature styled biathlon gun. based off of this image ( this is not the item just the thing it's based off of) :
concept art for the weapon:
3. misc item: a set of skis that would go on the scouts back. team coloured (and/or) paintable. 2 styles, proper and messy. concept art for it:
4. hat: a skiing helmet that would be the hat of the set. could be black or teamoloured and could also be paintable. also there is a option for there to be goggles on the helmet. the goggles would be team coloured. if the goggles are on the helmet there are 2 styles. style 1 has the goggles resting on the top of helmet and style 2 has the scout wear the goggles. based off of my skiing helemt and goggles:
concept art for the item:
that's all. cheers.

And what is the benefit of making these items for you? If someone liked your ideas they would make them for themselves. Or are you paying?

do you know how the steam workshop works? someone makes a 3d model of the item and submits it to the workshop. if valve likes it then they put it in the game and everytime someone buys it from the store you get money from that.

But why would someone make your items? That's what I'm asking. You should probably learn to make some basic models yourself. There are tons of tutorials.

im not very good at it i will take some courses. but the reason someone would turn my ideas into models is if they think it will be accepted to the game so they can make some profit. ( if i have the idea and they make the model then there is a option to decide how much of the revenue each person gets. ex. if we split it 50-50 and the item sells for 5$, then we each get 2.50 per unit.)

Your "ideas" and "concept art" are not worth 50% of anything. You need to expand your ideas and try to learn a software package. There are literally hundreds of tutorials.

Gonna have to agree with taco. I mean, since he's doing all the job, supposing the item get in-game, he should probably get at least 95% of it. I mean, these ideas are not really original... Anybody could think of these, and even actually think better. Just watch at the workshop and how many great items doen't get in-game.. Think this should?..

I thought you only get 25% of the money made from the workshop?
crapshoot 1 Dec 18, 2012 @ 1:54pm
no you decide the amount. if you want 100% then you get 100%. if you want the split to be 45%/55% then thats what each person gets. example: if a item is made by 2 people and costs 5$ and the two people decided to split it 50/50. the they each get 2.50$ per item bought from the store. valve only collects the tax on it all the rest got to the creators.
