Is Sketchup alright to use?
A free 3d modeling program called sketchup exists, though I haven't seen any posts on the forum concerning it. Is anyone familiar to the program and is it compatable with attempting to add gear into Team Fortress?

You can use it but I would highly recommend NOT using it. The program can be quick and easy to use but can create messy geometry that will make your assets hard to texture/ hard to use in a game.
I'm assuming that an 'expert' user of sketchup could make it work for making in-game assets but from my experience (I use maya) it isn't a choice program for making high-quality models

I can understand that, after all its a free program (so far). Mostly I am using it so that I dont feel like my ideas are going to waste. I am happy to hear that you think it "could" work dispite the program, perhaps I'll post success stories or you may simply see them on the workshop some day.
I appriciate any other imput that may be forthcoming.
