Skyrim crashing randomly
Hey guys I just built a new BOSS pc.

Geforce Gtx 770 and an 8 core processor. I built it for Elder scrolls online but am using
skyrim to keep me company till it comes out.

But skyrim keeps crashing! I have no mods installed just the DLC packs.

I have tried doing the trick to turn my speakers down to less than 48K.

I have also gone through my load order and cleaned that up.

Its like someone is just pulling the plug on the game. Im sitting there playing and
it just crashes, the screen is blank and my PC is still running.

I timed it. It happened after only 15 minutes of gameplaY!

I am so freaking mad. The PC works fine otherwise.

Anyway, if any of you guys know some things I can do with memory timing or something

please chime in.

Sincerely, Pupil

Question Number 1:
Do you have the load order:
- Dawnguard
- Hearthfires
- Dragonborn?

It has to be in that order.

Second Question:

Does it happen only in specific locations?

IE: Riverwood, Whiterun, Falkreath, or specific roads to that area? Or does it happen only going to New Areas - that you have not explored?

Third Question:
Did you turn of the HIGHREZ PACK 1/3 - 2/3 - 3/3 and see if that helps?

Forth Question:
Is your video card High End and thus does it have adequate air flow?

My load order is skyrim.esm then update then dawnguard then hearthfires then dragon born

No specific locations totally random.

I dont have the Hi rez packs installed.

Its a high end video card I hope it has good airflow.

Thanx for chiming in.

Im just upset cuz i built this PC for Elder scrolls online and it cant even keep skyrim up.

It just goes blank. I am tempted to install skyrim outside of steam and see if that helps.

What operating system are you running?

Windows XP
Windows 7
Windows 8

I know a whole lot of people that have issues with Win 8 and some that found they got it to work. I find it noteworthy that the Bethesda Website does NOT put Windows 8 in their requirements - and the Legendary Pack came out AFTER Window's 8. I also know a lot of Computer Companies (not all) will not recommend Windows 8 for Skyrim and other type games, but sell Windows 7.
