Slow zombies
I would really like a mod that just slows down the zombies and removes the specials, I like the slow old-school style zombies, but I don't really care for the headshot only, higher damage etc.

I know, if I'm gonna be picky I should learn to mod it myself.

I can do that, or do you want to learn yourself?

It would be awesome if you wanted to do it. I don't have any experience modding and I don't really have the time to put into learning it right now. Between work and a new baby, I'm lucky to have time to even play games.

That being said, if you're offering to help me with it or teach me the process, I would be greatful. On the other hand, given my limitied availability, it would be cool if you wanted to take it on yourself.

1st part: software.
the main software needed for left 4 dead 2 modding is a vpk opener. all addons for l4d2 are stored inside a vpk file. the one i use is
the much better notepad++ keeps everything in order and has great visual cues as to same words, what line you're on etc.
this shows how to unpack and pack.

you're awesome, I'll look it all over and try out the mod. Cheers!

After installing go to Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\addons\workshop to find what you want.
if you want to change one of mine that you asked for, it id is the same as the end of the url posted. once you have the wanted .vpk file right click, choose default program and select gfcscape.
You should see a folder named scripts and a .txt file called addoninfo(this is assuming you are looking at one of my mods, there will be different folder names if its not a script based mod.
Blackcat12951 37 Feb 18, 2014 @ 1:42am
Now create a new folder on the desktop, or wherever is convenient. you want to drag everything from inside the gfcscape program to your new folder. you now would have extracted the files so you can change them. If you go into the script folder there will be one folder called vscripts, which handles the finales scripts and gamemodes.txt. this is the main file in my addon hat changes the game.
You will see everything is repeated for all gamemodes, and then the mutations.
once you make any changes you want, write them into addoninfo.txt so you know which addon is yours.

Then you have to re pack the files to make it work. to do this go to Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\bin\ there should be a file called vpk.exe.
to repack simply drag your new folder with the addon fliles inside it onto vpk.exe and a command window will briefly appear.
when that dissapears there should be a new .vpk file with the same name as the folder you draged in. you then want to put that .vpk file in Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\addons.
then run the game and it should be in the addon menu, after activating restard l4d2 to make sure it activates properly, then have fun testing.
if you need more help i will be on about 1 hour after posting this.

This is a example of one of my other addons.
i added some comments on what each thing does, check it out if stuck.
the one i posted doesn't have any of the bot bonuses so ask if you need them.

Same. I'm not one to do the modding myself since the most I can be bothered to do are texture mods.
