concept art is a 2d-skill, you need to know however how are items broken into parts (different heroes have different parts) but also size of item (it should be roughly the same as bounding box, because it is same for all items) and how dota materials work (metal / glow / alpha channel etc)


or just look at other ppl concepts to get idea.
