A simple follower gear mod?
I just want a mod that removes or replaces the hidden gear all the followers have so you can take and replace their gear in-game.

I would imagine someone has already done that, but why not make that a project for exploring ck yourself? It's free to use. Here's a tutorial, which will link you to more advanced tutorials as you go.

Follow this on setting up and creating a new .esp file to use. Once you have the esp created and saved, scroll down to the bottom left and click "all" then type the follower's name in the top. Double click on them and go to the inventory tab. You'll see where their outfit is selected. This is what they'll revert to whenever you dismiss them, and what they'll carry around in addition to any armor you've given them.

You can choose anything you want them to wear from the list, or just move it to "none" and give them whatever you want. If you do this, though, you'll have to use console commands to make them keep it on, or they will be naked whenever off duty.

That is simply pointing at them, press ~ to open console and click on them while in console. It should display a number right under the crosshairs.

Type: inv

inv (gives you a list of all the objects on them, good idea to take away whatever you don't want them to have first, to make the list shorter.)

Choose the items you want them to keep wearing, and type:

equipitem (item number without parenthesis) 1

So, if it was fur boots, it might be

equipitem a6d7f 1

The 1 tells them to keep it on at all times. If you don't use 1, they will wear it until next time you see them, and then they won't have it on. Repeat this line for each item you'd like them to wear. Then press ~ to close console.

If you start a new game and still have this mod installed/running, though, they will be naked when you first encounter them. The mod will retain the "none" setting, but the game won't know the previous game's console commands. Remember to go to them and dress them, or take out the mod before a new game.

Why not use "Amazing follower tweaks" it does all that and a heck of a lot more. I never leave home without it!
